Battlefield 3 - Assualt Class

Post by Guest on Thu Dec 15, 2011 3:53 am

Firstly the most important aspect of Assualt is Reviving and healing
teammates, There are far too many players out there who just use Assualt
as basically a soldier for killing while it's true that assualt is
great for getting kills most of your points you will gain are from
Healing through the Medic Kits and reviving.

Med Kits - Always
drop med kits when in combat heavy areas you will rack up so many points
it's unreal which makes it so easy to level/rank up, I normally drop a
med kit everytime i stop to attack an objective or when defending, Try
to keep your Med kits as close to your fellow squad/team as you can. Med
Kits are very easy to destroy but are unlimited in how many can be
dropped throughout a match, They take a fair amount of time to dissapear
compared to the support ammo boxes. You can also drop a med kit behind a
wall you are infront of to still reap the benefits of it, walls dont
stop the effects of ammo boxes either so keeping a med kit hidden behind
a wall where it can't be destroyed can't hurt you.

Weapons - I
use the F2000 the most out of any weapon i usually use it with an
IRNV(Infa Red sight) But due to it being nerfed on the xbox on the 13th
i've decided to start using a usual 4x scope, Doesn't particularly
matter what scope you use but i prefer the ones with just a plain dot
instead of all the bullet drop shit that is lumped onto some of the
scopes, I use a foregrip as my secondary accessory compared to the
Bi-pod as its quite glitchy to get set up especially on weird shaped
surfaces and even on flats and isn't as useful as a foregrip, I use the
Heavy barrel as my third accessory as it is good for aiming down the
scope which i seem to have a habit of doing even at relatively close
ranges. Another weapon i quite like is the M416 which is incredibly
accurate i believe even at range, I find using a 4x scope with a
foregrip and a heavy barrel is best for it whilst a suppressor is good
for all the guns i noticed even at close range the damage seems to be a
fair bit less. I was using a tactical light on my F2000 for a while as
it was quite handy in CQB as it saved me a fair amount of times but it
is supposedly being dimmed in the next patch so will see how it is
effective then. The AEK-971 is also a nice gun as it is quite accurate
but has a decent fire rate aswell, I tried using the PDW-R and P90 and
found them only effective on some maps due to them having such a small
range compared too everything else. Due too Back to karkand coming out ive changed too the Famas which you get after ten heals and ten revives which to be honest is nothing, Its the weapon im using atm as my main and i love it but it requires you too just use bursts at range but at close/medium range it can be incredibly deadly.

Secondary Weapon - I use the
G18 as my secondary but if you haven't unlocked it yet anything with a
tactical light would be great, i usually swap to my G18 as soon as i
have finished a clip on the F2000 if im in a heavy combat area just
incase you get caught off-guard.

Reviving - Reviving teammates is
crucial in matches if you really want too win but i see a lot of
Assualt players running out into the middle of area's where enemies are
shooting at and being killed whilst they did manage to revive the player
they were after he got killed aswell, I sometimes do this but i
normally do it if i can run straight across too the opposite side but
only if there are few enemies so that the player you revive atleast has a
chance, Reviving players is only handy if you can still survive, if
reviving a player is gonna get you killed in the process it just isn't
worth it. Especially as in conquest a death counts as a deducted ticket
on your team's points but any revive that is made on a fellow player
will refund one ticket back to your team. Something too think about when
you are losing a match. I personally think 100 points for a revive is a
lot basically the same as a basic kill so if you're reviving lots of
team mates who are dying next to you you'll soon rack up points. Idea

M320
- I sometimes ue the M320 Grenade launcher on maps but you soon regret
it if you get hit and you can't heal yourself or teammates, i usually
use it if i want a change from healing and just a good laugh with the
grenade launcher. Having a support member in your team is incredibly
helpful as you only get if i remember 5 grenades when you spawn.

Camoflauge - Camo changing is handy for certain maps and will be even more once the IRNV is nerfed and becomes near unusable lol!
so black ops will become pretty useless, so any camo that matches the
surroundings of the map you are in will be helpful if you are defending
objectives in conquest.

M26 Mass (Attachable shotgun) - I tried
using the M26 Mass and found it was quite powerful but only really at
close range anything other than a few meters away becomes horrible to
get a kill, There is also a frag one which is like a meter kill range
anything more and it becomes well.. shit.

One of the best
tips i can give anyone is to not run and gun on there own and try to
stay near too atleast one other player so you have some sort of back up
theres nothing worse than running into two enemys when you are running
solo and being basically destroyed. Staying close to other team mates
will only reap you benefits aslong as the other person isn't thick and
runs about like a dick getting you and him shot.

All i can think of right now Smile Hope this helps people Smile

(Moved to BF3 specific category and stickied...nice tips mate)

Nice one reaper, some good tips there especially the one about sticking with your team mates. I have a tendancy to wander off on me own which has got me in the shit loads of times. Shocked

Great Reaper - thanks.

@ColinRuk - I know what you mean mate...I tend to do the same, but some of the best times I've had in this game is when working closely with my squad mates and putting the kit to good use...ie SOFLAM+javelin or Mortar+claymores.

Big tip for running solo is use a silencer. Nothing worse than coming up behind 4-5 enemies and after you blast 1 the rest turn and blast you because they seen you on the minimap. Mad
